Brief History of Cummins ISX and QSX
The ISX was introduced in 2001 to replace the N14 engine.
The IS in ISX stands for "Interact System", the ISX is used for On-Highway applications.The QSX is the industrial version of the ISX, the Q stands for Quantum.
Twin overhead cam used from 2001 until 2010
2001 - 2002 Signature 600 or ISX CM5702002 - 2007 ISX CM870 new feature - Exhaust Gas Recirculation (EGR) cooler system.
2008 - 2010 ISX CM871 new feature - Diesel Particulate Filter (DPF), Diesel Oxidation Catalyst (DOC)
Single overhead cam using the Common Rail (CR) fuel system from 2010
Used in the ISX15 CM2250 and CM2350 engines.2010 - 2020 ISX15 CM2250 new feature - Selective Catalytic Reduction (SCR)
