Cummins V903 Essential Diesel Engine Bolt Tightening Torques

 
Cummins V903 Main Bearing Bolts 

Step 1 = 50 lb.ft, 68 Nm
Step 2 = 140-170 lb.ft, 190-231 Nm
Step 3 = 300-320 lb.ft, 407-434 Nm
Step 4 = Loosen all screws
Step 5 = 50 lb.ft, 68 Nm
Step 6 = 140-170 lb.ft, 190-231 Nm
Step 7 = 300-320 lb.ft, 407-434 Nm

Cummins V903 Connecting Rod Bolts 

Step 1 = 50 lb.ft, 68 Nm
Step 2 = 90-100 lb.ft, 122-136 Nm
Step 3 = Loosen two nuts to finger tightness. Do not use torque wrench to loosen nuts.
Step 4 = 30-40 lb.ft, 41-54 Nm
Step 5 = 60-70 lb.ft, 81-95 Nm
Step 6 = 95-110 lb.ft, 129-149 Nm

Cummins V903 Cylinder Head Bolts 

Step 1 = 50-80 lb.ft, 68-108 Nm
Step 2 = 115-135 lb.ft, 156-183 Nm
Step 3 = 175-185 lb.ft, 237-251 Nm
Step 4 = 220-240 lb.ft, 298-325 Nm
Step 5 = 280-300 lb.ft, 380-407 Nm
