MTU 396 Essential Diesel Engine Bolt Tightening Torques

 
MTU 396 Connecting Rod bolt torque  

Connecting rod cap bolts (wet)
Max length = 85.00 mm
Step 1 = 10 Nm + 10 Nm
Step 2 = 160 Nm + 16 Nm
Step 3 = +90 degrees +10 degrees
Test torque = 380 Nm + 20 Nm

MTU 396 Cylinder Head bolt torques 

Cylinder head bolts (wet)
All M18 and M20 bolts
Step 1 = 20 Nm + 10 Nm
M18 bolts
Step 2 = 90 Nm + 10 Nm
Step 3 = + 90 degrees + 10 degrees
M20 bolts
Step 2 = 180 Nm + 10 Nm
Step 3 = + 90 degrees + 10 degrees
